How to increase VRAM capacity on Laptop
Welcome to Ran
Tutorial. In this discussion we will discuss how to increase capacity VRAM on a
laptop.
#STEP 1
Without Software
1. Upgrade your RAM.
The first way to
increase VRAM is to add more RAM. RAM turns out to divide the capacity partly
for VRAM, for example RAM capacity of 4 GB, then VRAM obtained is 512 MB
Therefore, if the computer or Motherboard on your PC has two RAM slots, please
fill both so that the capacity of VRAM also increases. Or do the bios settings
to split the VRAM capacity of the existing RAM.
2. Set Shared Memory in Bios
-
Restart or Shutdown Windows.
- Then turn it back on and make
sure you press the Del or Delete key when the device turns on again before
going into the Boot process.
- If successful then you will go to bios settings.
- There are many settings for Boot and others.
- Use the right, left, top and
bottom keys on your keyboard to swipe through the selections.
- Select Advanced and press Enter to go to settings.
- Look for the Shared Memory option and press Enter.
- Then you can arrange it as
needed.
- Then go to the Save & Exit option and select Yes
on the confirmation request.
#STEP 2
With Software.
The next way is to use
a Software called 3D Analyzer,
please Install it first. After that please install and run the software. Then
you'll go to the panel.
If it matches the
required settings, now click Run. Then the performance and capacity of VRAM
will increase with the division of RAM capacity. Or you can add VRAM through
the special settings in Virtual Memory.
1. Open the Start menu,
right-click on My Computer or This PC.
2. Select Properties
and go to Advanced System Settings >
Settings.
3. Go to Change on the Advanced Tab,
4. Uncheck the Automatically manage paging file size for
all drives option.
5. After that specify
the Drive to be created for Virtual
Memory.
6. It is recommended to
use Drive C or Drive to save the operating system you are using.
7. Please set the Virtual Memory size as desired by
filling in the Custom size field.
8. Note! The ideal
custom Virtual Memory size is twice as much as initially written and four times
as much for maximum addition of RAM installed on a computer or laptop.
9. After that please
finish by clicking OK.
10. Restart the device and the effect will
work.
#STEP 3
AMD Driver.
This is because AMD supports its users by creating AMD Graphic Overdrive software that can give extra performance to Radeon GPUs. To use it, check out the following. However, be careful in using it.
- For AMD users, right-click on the desktip and select AMD Catalyst Control Center.
- Next select the Amd OverDrive Performance > menu in the AMD Catalyst Control Center window.
- Click Accept to
accept the license agreement.
- Please wait for the OverDrive menu to appear.
- Click on Configure Graphic OverDrive.
- Checklist Enable Graphic OverDrive.
- Furthermore,
there are 3 options that you can change in Graphic OverDrive as follows:
- –
High Performance
GPU Clock Setting > To perform your PC's GPU clock settings.
- –
High Performance
Memory Clock Settings > To perform clock memory (VRAM) settings on your PC.
- –
Enable Manual Fan
Control > To set the fan manually.
- Then slide the High Performance Memory Clock Settings
slider to improve your PC's VRAM performance. We recommend that you also add
GPU performance.
- Just click Apply to run the changes.
- In addition, to know the maximum clock, do trial and error. To do this, add a memory clock interval of 100 Mhz and run the program you want.
· In the event of a crash, lower the memory clock interval, continue until you find the maximum clock on your PC. That was a little discussion about what is VRAM and our main point is tips or how to increase its capacity. Please try and share it with your friends in need, thank you for stopping by and hopefully useful.
